Professional Licensure General Disclosure Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Generalist Special Education

In accordance with 34 C.F.R. §668.43 and 34 C.F.R. §668.14(b)(32), and in compliance with the requirements outlined in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) Manual, Eastern Oregon University provides the following disclosure related to the educational requirements for professional licensure and certification.

This disclosure is limited to the University’s determination of whether its educational program, the BA/BS in Generalist Special Education, if successfully completed, would be sufficient to meet the educational licensure or certification requirements in a state for teacher certification.

Eastern Oregon University cannot provide verification of an individual’s ability to meet licensure or certification requirements unrelated to its educational programming. This disclosure does not guarantee that any specific state licensure or certification entity will approve or deny an application, nor does it account for future changes in law or regulation that may affect licensure decisions after this disclosure is published.

Eastern Oregon University has designed an educational program curriculum for the BA/BS in Generalist Special Education that, if successfully completed, meets the educational requirements for teacher licensure in the state of Oregon.

Based on a review of state educational requirements and available reciprocity agreements, the program is also recognized as satisfying the educational preparation component for out-of-state licensure through reciprocity in California, Washington, and Idaho, pending completion of each state’s additional requirements.

Eastern Oregon University has not determined whether this program meets educational requirements for teacher licensure or certification in any other state or U.S. territory.
