Outdoor Adventure Program

The Outdoor Adventure Program at Eastern Oregon University

The State of Oregon has approved Union County moving into Phase 2 of reopening. This allows the OAP Rental Shop to open on a limited basis to EOU students, staff, and faculty. At this time the OAP rental shop and climbing wall are closed to the general public. EOU continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation, and additional services will open in accordance with local, state, and national health authority guidance.

If you have any questions, you can e-mail us at mhatch@eou.edu or call us at (541) 962-3621. Our office will be closed until further notice, so please be patient as we respond to your messages and questions.

We appreciate your patience with this situation, and hope that you are all able to stay active, spend some time in the fresh air, and maintain your health!

EOU Coronavirus Information

The Outdoor Program at Eastern Oregon University began in the Fall of 1973 when non-credit backpacking classes were offered and the first outdoor equipment was purchased. Since 1973 the program has continued to provide opportunities for the EOU community to learn about and explore the incredible natural environment surrounding La Grande.

Outdoor adventures since 1973

Today the Outdoor Adventure Program oversees an equipment rental program that provides a wide range of outdoor adventure equipment for students, faculty/staff, and community members. The OAP also offers for-credit OUT courses, clinics, guided trips, an indoor climbing wall, and hosts an extensive outdoor adventure resource library.
