The Outdoor Program at Eastern Oregon University began in the Fall of 1973 when non-credit backpacking classes were offered and the first outdoor equipment was purchased. Since 1973 the program has continued to provide opportunities for the EOU community to learn about and explore the incredible natural environment surrounding La Grande.

Outdoor adventures since 1973

Today, the OAP oversees an equipment rental program that provides a wide range of outdoor recreation equipment for students, faculty/staff, and community members. The OAP also offers for-credit OUT courses, clinics, guided trips, climbing center, and hosts an extensive outdoor adventure resource library.
