Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the OAP will be focused on programming that is safe and adheres to all federal, state, and local health guidelines.

Open House @ the Climbing Wall, Wednesday, Oct. 13th, 2021, 6-8pm
Cost – FREE

A free climb night will be hosted at the climbing wall for EOU students and community members. It will run 6-8 pm. This is a great opportunity for students and locals to try out the sport of rock climbing in a safe indoor environment. Folks will get personalized instruction on how to climb and belay from knowledgeable and helpful OAP staff. All equipment is provided.

Masks are required inside EOU campus buildings.

Van Patten Lake Hike, Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, 9-3pm

Cost – $5

Physical Activity Level: Moderate

Join us for a beautiful early fall day hiking less than 2 miles to a gorgeous alpine lake. This is an awesome opportunity for students to check out one of several mountain ranges within an hour drive from campus. The OAP will provide transportation. Participants will need to pack their own lunch and snacks. Space is limited to 10, so sign up early. Register by clicking on the two links below.

Hiking, Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, 1-4pm Cost – FREE

Physical Activity Level: Moderate 

The OAP is going on a hike to the beautiful Mount Emily Recreation Area! This is in lieu of us having to cancel the Spring Mtn. rock climbing on Friday due to bad weather.  You should join the fun as the fall colors are AMAZING! This is a great opportunity for those new to the area to learn about one of the most user-friendly and close-to-town places to recreate. For those that may have been to MERA, this is your opportunity to explore more of this fabulous area with a knowledgeable OAP leader. To register fill out the two online forms below.

Hells Canyon Weekend Adventure, Nov. 5-7, 2021

Cost: $45

Physical Activity Level: Moderate-Strenuous

Join the OAP for a fun-filled weekend trip to Hells Canyon on the Snake River. This is a sweet trip to a little known rock climbing wonderland! If you have never been to Hells Canyon, prepare to be amazed. Gather your friends and enjoy rock climbing, paddle boarding, and hot springs! No experience is necessary.
