Education Abstract Guidelines

Abstracts in the field of education provide a brief overview of the research completed for a study or project.  Abstracts should be written in a clear and concise fashion, keeping in mind that the audience may not be familiar with educational research, practices and terminology. The abstract should be limited to 200 words and include all of the following:

  • Statement of Purpose:  Describe the nature and purpose of the research was about.
  • Methods:   Provide an overview of the methodologies, including the type of design used in the study or project.
  • Results:  Describe the main results of the study or project.
  • Significance:  Explain the value of the study or projects and the results that were obtained.

Abstracts will be evaluated for inclusion in the Spring Symposium based on the degree to which they adhere to the above guidelines.   Abstracts approved for inclusion in the Symposium will appear in the Symposium Schedule and will guide audience members in deciding which presentations to attend.
