You will need to report the outside/private scholarships that you are awarded to the Financial Aid Office. Outside/private scholarships come from outside donors and can affect your financial aid package. Please submit the Reporting Additional Sources of Assistance form located on the Financial Aid Forms webpage. You may review your scholarship payment status by logging into Mountie Hub as funds will be credited to your student billing account when received. Amazon Web Services InCommunities is excited to offer $2,500 renewable scholarships to eligible high school seniors who plan to pursue a STEM-related education.
Applications are now open to students until March 29. 2022. The AWS InCommunities Scholarship Program offers scholarships to high school seniors who plan to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects at higher education institutions in designated districts of California, Oregon, Ohio, and Virginia, where the company has data center operations.

The Thornton FFA Scholarship was established in 1991 to encourage FFA members in the state of Oregon to pursue higher educational opportunities in agriculture with the ultimate goal of seeking a degree in agriculture. The Thornton family hopes that this scholarship will encourage people to physically work toward their goals and to responsibly contribute to excellence in production agriculture.
Criteria
1. Eligible students must have a minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and be enrolled full time (12 or more credits on the quarter system) in an Oregon community college or university either as undergraduates majoring in an eligible agriculture degree or master’s degree students majoring in agricultural education planning to teach in Oregon.
Eligible undergraduate degree programs include agriculture production and sciences, agriculture education, and agriculture business degrees, including, but not limited to the following: agricultural production, crop/plant sciences, animal sciences, range sciences, soil sciences, agricultural sciences, agricultural education/leadership, agricultural business/economics, precision agriculture, and pre-veterinary science/medicine.
Forestry, fisheries, wildlife, natural resources, marijuana/hemp/hop production, food science, viticulture, enology (wine making), and zymology (fermentation science) are not eligible majors or career pathways for this scholarship.
2. Student selection shall be limited to Oregon high school graduates who completed a minimum of two years in an Oregon Agricultural Sciences and Technology Program (vocational agriculture) with membership in an Oregon high school FFA chapter at least their junior and senior years.
3. Students must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.
4. If equally qualified, a preference shall be given to students from the Yamhill-Carlton FFA program, then to students from Yamhill County, then to students from Polk County, then to students throughout the state of Oregon.
5. Recipients are eligible to receive the Thornton FFA Scholarship three times if they reapply and are reselected. If reapplying, please significantly change your applications by updating the financial section, adding recent pictures, updating your activities page, refreshing essays 2 and 3, and including current reference letters that highlight endeavors from the most recent year. Please ensure you are using the current year’s application.
6. Agricultural interest, scholarship, service, honesty, integrity, initiative, and determination as evidenced through school, jobs, community activities and FFA participation will be major deciding factors in the final selection.
Award Information
Student recipients will receive their scholarship in one payment to their college account spring term of the current school year, contingent upon verification of full-time enrollment and the Thornton Family’s receipt of a thank you note within 30 days of scholarship award notification. The donor mailing address will be provided via email to scholarship nominees.

Soroptimist is a global women’s organization whose members work to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Soroptimist programs focus on providing women and girls with access to education, which is one of the most effective ways to end social problems disproportionately affecting women and girls. Scholarships and awards are available to students who have graduated from a Union County High School or have lived in Union County for more than five years. The scholarships/awards range from $1,000 to $3,000.

The Ford Family Foundation serves the people and communities of Oregon and Siskiyou County, CA, and, in some cases, other regions. Many recipients enthusiastically declare that the Scholarship Programs are about “so much more than the money.” Our selection committees strive to select recipients whose past and potential are worthy of special support. We work to develop a long-term relationship with such students – not simply to bestow a scholarship. The primary purpose of the Scholarship Fund shall be the furtherance of higher education, trades and other vocations of worthy graduates of North Powder High School, Union County, Oregon and of all the high schools located in Baker County, Oregon who at the time of their graduation are residents of Baker County or attend North Powder High School. In addition, the trustee is authorized to make scholarships grants to recipients of general equivalency diplomas (GED’s) issued by a duly accredited institution in Oregon, provided that the recipient is a resident of North Powder School District or Baker County at the time of receiving the diploma.

Earnest Student Loans, a Navient Company, each year sets aside a portion of their profits to give back as scholarships. They are holding a no essay scholarship drawing. They will select 50 students to revieve a $5000 scholarship. This is open to any student that will be pursuing a 4-year or graduate degree in the Fall. The Great Albany Public Schools is offering a tuition assistance program similar to the Federal TEACH Grant. The award varies between $1,000 – $4,000 per year. The program requires that students maintain all requirements towards degree completion including passing required tests, maintain a 2.5 GPA, and regularly attend cohort meetings. Upon graduation, the student must teach in one of the Greater Albany Public Schools for at least 3 years.
Union County high school senior girls planning to attend Eastern Oregon University are eligible for this $3000 scholarship ($1000 per term) provided by Chapters I, CO, and DK of La Grande, Oregon. For an application and instructions, please contact your high school advisor as application packets are provided to each high school in Union County at the beginning of the school year. This is a $1000 scholarship supported by Chapter DK memorial contributions. Eligible applicants must be women who have graduated from a Union County high school, will be at least a sophomore in college starting fall term, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Oregon FFA offers scholarships for Oregon resident students. The FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation supports more than 1,400 college students each year, with annual scholarships of $3.4 million through two nationally recognized programs on behalf of the Coca-Cola System. Scholarship recipients excel academically and in service to others. Most Coca-Cola Scholars share a passion for social justice and many have overcome tremendous challenges to pursue their dreams. High school seniors throughout the United States who meet the eligibility requirements may apply for one of our four-year, achievement-based scholarships.
Five, $7,000 scholarships are awarded and funded through the generosity of Association Member, Peter W. Scott. The Horatio Alger Oregon Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in the State of Oregon who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.
Open to higher education students entering their junior and senior year of Undergraduate study, the scholarship program continues to grow in both the number of scholarships offered each year and the amount of each scholarship. Each scholarship recipient is selected by the Scholarship Program Board of Directors, and each recipient both demonstrates and exceeds the program standards, which include: a strong motivation to pursue a healthcare career, academic excellence, a dedication to community service, and a need for financial support of their education. Scholarship winners, beyond receiving their monetary award, are invited to attend a Winner’s Reception and Dinner in Boston, where they are honored and given the opportunity to meet the Gallagher Student Staff, the Scholarship Board Members, and other Gallagher Student Friends and Associates.

The U.S. Army Medical Department can help take away the worry of how you’ll pay for school. The F. Edward Hébert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program is available to qualifying students who wish to earn professional degrees from accredited medical, dental, optometry, veterinary, psychiatric nurse practitioner, clinical or counseling psychology programs. We will pay 100 percent of your tuition, plus we will also pay for required books, equipment and most academic fees. Qualifying medical and dental students are also eligible to receive a $20,000 sign-on bonus.
There are many circumstances that can make financing college harder for disabled students. Disabilities often prevent students from attending school full-time, making it harder to qualify for financial aid and scholarships reserved for those with full-time status, prevent students from working part-time jobs to offset tuition costs, require access to accommodations or support that are not provided or covered by schools, and require medical care that is not covered by school-sponsored insurance plans. Student should be graduating from a Union or Wallowa County High School, currently enrolled in college at EOU with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA, or attending another University or College whose permanent residence is located in Union or Wallowa Counties. Student must support the preservation of the hunting tradition and actively participate in hunting sports. A copy of your current hunting license is required. The Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling (PNACAC) is pleased to offer scholarships to students in our region! Multiple students who attend school in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington will be selected for one-time, non-renewable scholarships ranging from $500-$1000. Students from diverse backgrounds and all family income backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2019 at midnight.
Scholarships are awarded to Oregon students with at least a Sophomore standing who are majoring in Agriculture, Agriculture Business Management, Agriculture Production, Agriculture related industry. Awards available up to $3,000 as determined by scholarship committee. FAFSA not required for award. Must apply with transcripts and three letters of recommendation.
