The Outdoor Program will be hiring for two positions beginning in the Spring 2013 quarter and continuing through the 2013-2014 academic year.

Open Positions:

Outdoor Program Rental Shop Manager:

Position Title:  Outdoor Program Rental Shop Manager

Rate of pay: $9.50 per hour

Description of Duties:  Work at the Outdoor Program Rental Shop requires approximately 10 hours per week. Coordinate special presentations such as lectures, movies, and slide programs relating to outdoor adventure activities.  Select, train, and supervise student employees (under the supervision of the Outdoor Program Coordinator).  Maintain the Outdoor Program lounge and library.  Coordinate rental shop activities including equipment purchases, maintenance, advertising, inventory, accounting and budgeting.  Initiate programming and marketing designed to increase student awareness and use of the Outdoor Program Rental inventory.

Job Qualifications:  Must demonstrate strong leadership potential and be proficient in outdoor skills that relate to the nature of the Outdoor Program.  Familiarity or experience with outing groups or clubs lending outdoor adventure trips, teaching skills classes is desirable. Skills in the area of bicycle and raft use and maintenance are particularly desirable.

Quinn Coliseum Rock Wall Manager:

Position Title:  Outdoor Program Climbing Wall Manager

Rate of pay: $9.50 per hour

Description of Duties:  Work at the Quinn Coliseum Rock Wall requires approximately 10 hours per week. Coordinate special activities such as climbing competitions, open house climbing opportunities, and special events.  Select, train, and supervise student employees (under the supervision of the Outdoor Program Coordinator).  Coordinate rock wall activities including equipment purchases, maintenance, advertising, inventory, accounting and budgeting.  Initiate programming and marketing designed to increase student awareness and use of the Quinn Coliseum Rock Wall. This position would also work closely with the EOU Rock Climbing Club as one of the most active user groups.

Job Qualifications:  Must demonstrate strong leadership potential and be proficient in rock climbing (indoor minimum, outdoor and indoor experience preferred).  Familiarity or experience with outing groups or clubs lending outdoor adventure trips, teaching skills classes is desirable.
