Commencement is an optional ceremony.
It is a time for you to celebrate your accomplishments along with your family and friends, as well as the EOU community.

If you are a graduating senior and would like to participate in the Commencement Ceremony please contact Kaycie Lane in the Registrar’s Office at or 541-962-3810

Magna/Summa/Cum Laude honors cords may be purchased from the EOU Bookstore at the time you purchase your cap and gown.  Honors (for the Commencement Ceremony and Program) will be determined based on your cumulative GPA (including transfer credits if applicable) through Winter term.

The EOU Bookstore will have a list of eligible graduates by mid April.  You can also email for your GPA/honor qualifications after that date.

Robes, Cords and/or other Commencement regalia worn in conjunction with a particular program, club or other EOU department are handled through the particular college or club and is not under the purview of the Registrar’s Office – for questions please contact your program or club representative.

Your family and guests do not need tickets to attend the Commencement Ceremony. Seating at Community Stadium is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have family or guests that require special accommodations, please contact the Registrar’s Office at 541-962-3607 or email Please keep in mind that the ceremony is outdoors, so your family should bring an umbrella for rain or sun.
