Participation Information

We are excited to celebrate with you!

The June 2021 commencement ceremony will be in-person. Graduates will walk across the stage and family and friends will be able to watch their graduate walk from a vehicle passing in front of the stage area. This is so adequate social distancing will be met and so we can ensure we are meeting other pandemic requirements.

The ‘drive thru-walking ceremony’ will be held Saturday, June 12 2021 at 10:00 am. We will honor all 2020-21 graduates as well as any 2019-20 graduates who would like to participate.

The line up will be as follows;

  • The college of Arts and Humanities undergraduates
  • The college of Business master students then undergraduate students
  • The college of Education master students then undergraduate students
  • Oregon Health Sciences University on EOU’s campus graduates
  • Oregon State University on EOU’s campus graduates
  • The college of Stem and Health undergraduates

The ceremony will be livestreamed https://livestream.com/eou and will start at 9:30am with the commencement proceedings.

Please contact commencement@eou.edu with any questions.

COMMENCEMENT CONDUCT AGREEMENT

By participating in commencement you agree to observe the following guidelines during the ceremony.

  • Commencement is intended to be a festive occasion celebrating the accomplishments of our students. However, it is also ceremonial. Cell phones are permitted, but out of courtesy for other participants, students are asked to make judicious use of phones and not use them during the formal speaking portions of the ceremony.
  • It is particularly important that students respect their fellow students, faculty, staff, administrators, and guests who have come to witness and participate in the conferring of their degrees.

Please plan post-ceremony activities accordingly.

There are a number of excellent locations around campus (and the valley) for photographs!
