This state-of-the-art science center provides classrooms and laboratories for biology, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, physics, and psychology programs. Badgley Hall maintains a full-time support-staff consisting of an office specialist, instrument technician, and stockroom manager.

The Chemistry and Biochemistry Departments offer an extensive collection of chemical instrumentaion. Major research equipment includes:

  • JEOL AS400 400 MHz NMR spectrometer
  • Applied Photophysics SX.18MV-R stopped-flow dual mixing spectrophotometer (dead time ~1ms) with photomultiplier and diode array detection units, housed within an anaerobic glove box
  • Two Cary 50 UV/vis spectrophotometers (both with thermostatted cell holders for kinetic studies)
  • Nicolet Avatar 360 Fourier-transform infrared spectrophotometer
  • Varian Saturn 2200 mass spectrometer with a GP 3800 gas chromatograph and Tekmar purge and trap sampler
  • Varian GP 3380 gas chromatograph
