Keith Baker

Distinguished Alumni Award – 2005

Keith Baker is a highly acclaimed writer and illustrator of children books. His books are published by Harcourt-Brace and distributed around the world. He is an excellent artist with a very forthright presence and has authored numerous award winning children’ s book. His illustrations are in his own books and can be found in numerous other authors’ books and various commercial advertisements.


 

Don Heuberger

University Merit Award

Don Heuberger graduated in 1976. As an athlete he was named to the All-Conference team, and in 1975, to the All-District team and went on to play professionally for the Portland Mavericks during the 1975-76 season. In April 2005, he achieved the 500th win of his coaching career.


 

Michael Meek

University Merit Award

Michael Meek graduated in 1999. He coached Eastern’s junior varsity basketball team, and then went on to coach the La Grande High School Tigers girl’s varsity basketball team and in 2000 he led the Southridge High School Skyhawks to win the state championship. In 2005 he was voted Oregon’s 4A Coach of the Year.


 

Doug Campbell

University Service Award

Doug Campbell has been an ardent supporter of EOU for many years. Not only did he serve as an outstanding faculty member for many years, he supported countless EOU and Alumni Association events including EOU Homecoming. He is a member of the EOU Alumni Association Union County Chapter, La Grande Downtown Development Association and a small business owner in La Grande.
