The International Student Programs at the office of Strategic Equity Initiatives at EOU will host a series of interactive, culturally enriching activities in recognition of International Education Week (IEW) from November 17–21, 2025. The campus community is invited to participate in a weeklong celebration that highlights global perspectives, cultural exchange, and the diverse international experiences represented at EOU.
International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education. At EOU, IEW is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the cultures, languages, and international experiences that enrich our campus community and to reaffirm our commitment to building a community grounded in curiosity, connection, and belonging.
Throughout the week, the MOSAIC Center (Hoke 2nd Floor) and MOSAIC Hub (Hoke 3rd Floor) will feature ongoing activities that showcase music, stories, and connections from around the world. All events are free and open to the campus community. All International Education Week events are free and open to the campus community. For questions and more information, please contact Mika Morton, Strategic Equity Initiatives’ International Student Programs at mnmorton@eou.edu.
Celebrate the rhythms of our global community! The curated playlist will play all week long at the MOSAIC Center and MOSAIC Hub. Stop by, discover new favorites, and feel the energy of our shared world through music.
Help us bring EOU’s global story to life! Pin your home country, cultural roots, or places you’ve traveled on our large world map. As the map fills with colored dots, it becomes a powerful visual reminder of the diversity, journeys, and lived experiences that strengthen our campus community.
Add your voice to a collective tapestry of identity and belonging. Respond to prompts like, “Home feels like…” or “My culture teaches me…” and post your reflections on our community wall in the MOSAIC Center. Each note deepens our understanding of one another and reflects EOU’s commitment to fostering empathy and meaningful connection.
Test your knowledge and celebrate cultures from around the world with rotating trivia questions on our digital TVs! Discover fun facts about languages, histories, and geography. It’s a great way to learn something new, spark curiosity, and appreciate the richness of our international community.
Join us for an uplifting celebration of food, culture, and connection! This event features a hands-on musubi-making demonstration led by Bennie Moses-Mesubed, AVP Strategic Equity Initiatives. We’ll also be giving away musubi-making kits (limited to first 15 participants), and will be raffling off bags of rice, spam, and nori (seaweed) so you can make your own musubi at home! Come taste, learn, and listen to the story behind this beloved snack from the Pacific.
Expand your world, one phrase at a time! Join us for a fun, informal space where you can learn everyday expressions from different languages. Enjoy candies from around the world as you practice new words, connect across cultures, and build confidence in cross-cultural communication.
Take a trip around the world without leaving campus! With help from the EOU Library, students can explore iconic landmarks and world destinations through virtual tours and VR technology. Enjoy immersive travel videos in the MOSAIC Hub, and try out the VR headset in the MOSAIC Center for a truly global adventure.
