April 1, 2022 – Friday COVID Update

University Community,

Welcome to Spring Term! So far, EOU hasn’t reported a case of COVID-19 among students or employees. Click here to view updated Frequently Asked Questions on EOU’s coronavirus website. Thank you for your efforts to observe health and safety recommendations over the break and as we returned to campus.

Second booster dose available for eligible individuals

Some adults and minors can now receive a second COVID-19 booster dose. Click here to view updated details and eligibility. CHD, Inc., in La Grande is hosting free drop-in vaccination clinics every Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Interested individuals can also make an appointment by calling 541-962-8800.

COVID-19 testing for EOU students

Students who are experiencing symptoms or were in close contact with someone who tested positive can attend free drop-in testing clinics from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Gilbert Center on April 5 and 7.

Students who are experiencing symptoms should not attend class, and must contact the Health Center at 541-962-3524 or shc@eou.edu

Student Affairs has free rapid COVID tests available to all students. Students can visit the Student Affairs Office or email saffairs@eou.edu to receive an at-home rapid test kit. Click here for information about free at-home rapid tests in Union County.

Student-athletes should contact EOU trainers regarding ongoing requirements related to intercollegiate athletics.

Ongoing safety and health practices

  • Stay home if you have illness symptoms of any kind.
  • Continue to complete the Daily Self Health Check in Mountie Hub before arriving on campus each day.
  • The Oregon Health Authority still requires those who test positive for COVID-19 to quarantine for five days. Click here to view the full OHA guidance.

Students with questions should contact Student Affairs (saffairs@eou.edu) or call the COVID Hotline at 541-962-3260. Employees with questions should contact their supervisor or Human Resources (hr-group@eou.edu).

Sincerely,

Executive Leadership Team
