Message from the Dean

Welcome to the College of Science, Technology, Mathematics, & Health Sciences (STMHS) at Eastern Oregon University! Whether you’re exploring your academic path or deepening your understanding of the natural world, you belong here.

Our mission is to foster excellence and innovation through rigorous, high-quality education across seven academic programs: biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, health & human performance, psychology, and counseling. Our undergraduate curriculum builds depth, breadth, and application, while our graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling prepares professionals to meet the needs of rural communities. We also offer strong pre-professional health pathways grounded in EOU’s liberal arts foundation, preparing students to think critically, apply learning, and improve lives in our region and beyond.

Our faculty-student learning partnership is central to this work. Small class sizes, engaged faculty, research, internships, laboratories, practica, and community-based learning help students build strong academic foundations and practical skills.

Beyond the classroom, we invite you to join student organizations, present your research, ask questions, share ideas, and take every opportunity to learn and lead. We’re excited to support you every step of the way.
