Julian Garcia

Julian Garcia has professionally and personally been involved with agriculture for over thirty years. Julian currently serves as CEO for Beef Northwest Feeders headquartered in North Powder, Oregon with seven feedyards located in Boardman, Nyssa, Hermiston and Quincy, WA, with a collective, one-time capacity of 110,000 head. Beef Northwest also has extensive grazing operations across the northwest United States and owns a transportation company operating as Northwest Beef Express.

Prior to joining Beef Northwest Feeders Julian was the Canadian Business Unit Director for the Zoetis Cattle, Equine, Precision Livestock Farming and Genetics businesses. Formally, he was US Market Senior Director where he was responsible for over 100 territory business managers who provide innovative animal health solutions to beef, dairy, equine and veterinary customers. Julian served as US Group Marketing Director for Pfizer Animal Health where he was responsible for leading its marketing and communication teams for cattle, equine, genetics, retail sales, feed additives, food safety and service platforms. Prior to joining Zoetis Julian spent 7 years at Merck/Merial in both sales and marketing capacities. He has spent his career creating work cultures that foster learning, trust and innovation. He also owns Spike-J Livestock which has operated commercial cow/calf, sheep and seedstock cattle operations.

Julian has served in a variety of leadership roles including Grand President – National Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity; President – Georgia FFA Foundation Board; President – New Mexico Junior Livestock Foundation; and Assistant Superintendent – National FFA Livestock CDE; His participation in these organizations has allowed him to better understand and help solve pressing agricultural industry and education issues.

A graduate of New Mexico State University, Julian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He also received a Master’s degree from Colorado State University’s Beef Industry Leadership Program.
