    • By participating in an EOU intercollegiate athletic team, athletes will become more involved on campus and in the community by taking part in service learning projects while displaying the five (5) core values of the NAIA – respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. By learning to balance the need of the team versus the need of the self, athletes will develop a team-first attitude.
  • 5. How will the achievement of this learning outcome be evaluated, measured, or assessed? Describe measures to be used.
    • Outcomes will be measured through the following means:
    • Service Learning Project – reflection of feelings upon completion of project through verbal dialogue with team and reflective journaling. In addition, athletes will be able to identify 3 ways in which teamwork contributed to the completion of the project.
    • Effective Participation – win/loss record, team and coach observation and evaluation, retention rates and statistics will be utilized to measure the overall effectiveness of the team.
