LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University will hold its 93rd Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Stadium on the La Grande campus.
The main commencement ceremony will be held on the green for the first time since the turf was installed in 2018 at the Community Stadium. Guests are encouraged to wear hats and bring sunscreen. High heels will not be allowed on the field as they can damage the turf. In the event of lightning, EOU will move the ceremony into Quinn Coliseum.
The university anticipates awarding up to 776 degrees and certificates this academic year with over 360 students set to walk across the stage. Graduates will walk with peers from their college.
Those receiving master’s degrees will participate in a special hooding ceremony in Gilbert Plaza at 8:30 a.m. Students participating in the Master’s Hooding Ceremony will also participate in the main Commencement Ceremony.
Check-in time for the Master’s Hooding Ceremony is at 7:30 a.m. in Gilbert Plaza. Check-in for the main Commencement Ceremony starts at 8:00 a.m. in Quinn Coliseum Main Gym.
The in-person event is open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis with ADA seating directly on the field. Viewers can also tune in to the live stream at the following link, youtube.com/user/EOUAV.
