The Eastern Oregon University High School Songwriting Contest Sponsored by the Music Department at Eastern Oregon University

EOU is no longer accepting submissions.

Eligibility:  Anyone enrolled in a Oregon high school east of the Cascades, or an Oregon resident who is home-schooled between the Grade 9 and Grade 12.

What you can win:  All participating songwriters will receive a free critique of their song.  The top three winners will receive a cash award.  Top prize $300 — 2nd prize $200 — 3rd prize  $100

Judging: Both music and lyrics will be evaluated.  There will be two levels of judging, first by the faculty of Eastern Oregon University, and then by a professional songwriter/performer.  The judge for 2015 will be Mike Mallory from The Wasteland Kings.

Categories:  All songs must include lyrics.  There are no restrictions to the style of music submitted.  All styles will be considered.  Judges focus on the quality of the song, not on the style, or quality of the recording submitted.
