To become an official partner, schools and districts must:
- Have a district or school level high school mentor assigned to work with students in the OTP program.
- The district must provide support for students in the program (training and/or counseling).
- The district must provide opportunities for field placement.
- The mentor or district must be engaged with the students and their families to help them plan for college, understand the impact of teaching on the community, and understand OTP.
- The mentor must engage in professional development and training, and provide pre-collegiate course work for students in OTP through EOU and Early College Initiatives.
