Federal financial aid regulations have defined that a student who withdraws or stops attending prior to completing 60% of a term has not earned 100% of the federal financial aid that was received. That student may be required to return a portion of his or her federal aid.
We recommend that you try to complete at least one of the classes to avoid any financial hardship imposed by this regulation. However, if you must withdraw, it is important that you understand your financial obligations. We recommend that you contact the Student Accounts Office at 541-962-3590 to discuss your options and financial obligations for withdrawing.
The following programs are subject to return in the order they are listed:
1. Unsubsidized Federal Stafford loans.
2. Subsidized Federal Stafford loans.
3. Federal Perkins loans.
4. Federal PLUS loans.
5. Federal Pell Grants for which a return of funds is required.
6. Academic Competetiveness Grants for which a return of funds is required.
7. National Smart Grants for which a return of funds is required.
8. Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) for which a return of funds is required.
