In each surrounding city of the trail, general data was collected to assess the current economic state of each city. General information like number of buildings, vacancy rate, and events were collected to help write up the economic impact analysis.

Basic information like this will help give you a better understanding of the type of economic conditions you’ll be working with. For example, our project was located in a very rural area, therefore there wasn’t very much available data for us to access. In an urban area, the data might be a google search away. Knowing the region of the proposed trail will make searching for data much easier.
