LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University (EOU) welcomes Mountaineer alumni, family, friends, and the public to celebrate EOU from Thurs., Oct. 12 to Sat., Oct. 14 in La Grande with a host of homecoming festivities.
The weekend begins Thursday evening, Oct. 12 with a No-Host Social and Trivia gathering at Side A Brewing in downtown La Grande.
Friday morning at 9 a.m. EOU Athletics will host a Mountaineer Athletic Association (MAA) Golf Scramble at Buffalo Peak Golf Course.
The Mountaineer March Homecoming Parade sets off in downtown La Grande at 4:30 p.m. that evening with clubs, teams, and local businesses marching through the city. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to join.
Following the parade, EOU Athletics will honor distinguished alumni during the Athletics Hall of Fame event at in the Hoke Union Community Room from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
At 7 p.m. Friday evening, the EOU women’s volleyball team will hold a match at Quinn Coliseum followed by the Mountaineer Spirit Bonfire at the Beach Volleyball Pits from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday morning, community members, alumni, and friends of EOU are invited to participate in a fun run that starts on campus and proceeds downtown. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the run will start at 8:30 a.m.
From 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Oct. 14, guests can attend the EOU Alumni Association Breakfast and Awards Ceremony, along with the State of the University Address at 10:30 a.m.
The weekend includes the EOU homecoming football game with the Mountaineers taking on Carroll College at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct., 14,
A Tailgate Zone will take place before the game from 10 a.m.
