LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is delighted to announce the winners of the annual Homecoming Parade, a vibrant celebration that brings the community together in the spirit of Mountaineer pride and camaraderie.
This year’s parade, known as the “Mountaineer March” saw an exceptional display of creativity, enthusiasm, and school spirit from participants, making the selection process for the winners a tough one.
EOU extends heartfelt gratitude to Benchwarmers Pub & Grill, the sponsor of the coveted traveling trophy and gift certificate prizes.
The EOU Homecoming Parade winners for 2023 are as follows:
First Place: EOU College of Education
This remarkable entry captured the essence of EOU’s spirit and pride. With their outstanding display of enthusiasm, they truly set the tone for the entire parade.
Second Place: EOU Residence Life
This entry showcased incredible creativity and a high number of participants, impressing the judges and the enthusiastic crowd of parade spectators.
Third Place: EOU Ag Club
The third-place winner brought an irresistible charm to the parade, earning the admiration of all who witnessed their spirited performance and impressive display.
The first-place winner will receive a trophy and generous prize, courtesy of our sponsor, Benchwarmers Pub & Grill, whose unwavering support enhances the excitement and competitiveness of the Homecoming Parade. Second and third-place prizes also receive prizes.
Eastern Oregon University would like to extend a sincere thank you to all participants who dedicated their time and creativity to make this year’s Homecoming Parade a resounding success. This year’s parade saw the highest number of participants and spectators in its history, thanks in part to excellent weather, too!
EOU expresses gratitude to the parade spectators who lined the streets, creating a lively atmosphere and showing their tremendous support for EOU.
Looking to the future, EOU is excited to continue growing the Mountaineer March as an essential tradition in the Homecoming festivities. The plan is to continue growing participation, creativity, and community engagement in the coming years.
