Chamber Choir Audition and Dates 2014-15

2014-2015 EOU Chamber Choir Auditions

Auditions will take place in Loso 123

Friday, September 26th

    11:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 27th

    10:00 – 12:00

Sunday, September 28th

    1:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Your Audition will include:

  • A prepared solo prepared vocal solo with piano accompaniment.  (an accompanist will be provided)  Please bring music for the accompanist. If you do not have a prepared solo, we will provide music of a standard song for you to sing.
  • Sight Reading
  • Rhythmic Sight Reading
  • Vocalizing and range testing
  • Playing some simple vocal lines on the piano.

The EOU Chamber Choir is a select 46 to 58 member vocal ensemble.  The Choir meets daily from 12:00 – 12:50 and students can register for the 2 credit course as either MUS 195 Chamber Choir or MUS 395 Chamber Choir.  The Chamber Choir is a year long ensemble, so students need to make sure that they will not have any schedule conflicts throughout the year.

Each new member of the choir will need to purchase their black formal concert attire at a total cost of $40 per person.

Fall Concert – October 16, 7:00 p.m. in McKenzie Theatre

Thursday, December 4th – Dress Rehearsal, 7:00 p.m. McKenzie

Saturday, December 6th – Holiday Music Festival, 7:30 p.m. McKenzie Theatre

Sunday, December 7th – Holiday Music Festival 3:00 p.m. McKenzie Theatre

Winter Concert rehearsals/retreat January 10, 11 – Details TBA

Evening dress rehearsals – January 26 – 28,

Friday, January 30 – EOU Music Department and Chamber Choir, 7:30 p.m. McKenzie Theatre

Saturday, January 31 – EOU Music Department and Chamber Choir, 4:00 p.m. McKenzie Theatre

Saturday, January 31 – EOU Music Department and Chamber Choir, 8:00 p.m. McKenzie Theatre

Thursday, March 5 – EOU Choir concert, 7:30 p.m. McKenzie

Sping Term Choir Concert – Thursday, June 4 – 7:30 p.m. McKenzie Theatre

Additional tours will be announced, but most tours will be day trips during the 2014-15 school year.
