Megan Brassine, DNP Ed, MSN, FNP-C

Family Nurse Practitioner and OHSU School of Nursing Assistant Professor

Megan is a native of Eastern Oregon who is thrilled to return to the EOU campus, where her college career began in 2002 for pre-nursing studies. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Oregon Health and Science University in La Grande in 2006. Following a ten-year career as a registered nurse in intensive care, she shifted her focus toward health promotion and disease prevention, obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in 2015. She worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner for Salem Health, managing a patient panel in primary care while seeing students as walk-in patients at a school-based health center for three years. In 2019, she returned to Eastern Oregon to practice in Urgent Care, but in 2020, she was recruited back to her alma mater to teach undergraduate nursing as a clinical instructor. She most recently obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nursing Education to advance her knowledge in research and evidence-based practice and now teaches pathophysiology for OHSU. Having 18 years in nursing, she has gained a diverse background in acute care, primary care, student health, urgent care, and education. She is passionate about creating a safe, respectful, collaborative environment for her patients and students.

Her professional interests include family planning, women’s health, STI health, behavioral health, sports injuries, and preventative care.

When not teaching or in the clinic, she enjoys camping, hiking, biking, gardening, swimming, rock climbing, riding horses on the farm back home, and spending time with her husband and son.
