Teachers and Administrators

EOU Professor Laura Mahrt

Thank you for being willing to partner with Eastern Oregon University with our sponsored dual credit courses.  You’re a vital part of the program and we look forward to supporting you throughout the year.

Interested in teaching dual credit?

Becoming a partner has certain requirements from the teacher and the administration of each district.  Full explanations of expectations are in the Early College Handbook.

  • Help guide your students to fill out their application for Eastern Oregon University.
  • Send home and communicate directly with the Early College Initiative’s office when you have received the financial responsibility forms in a timely fashion.  When you receive your forms make sure you scan them and send them to eci@eou.edu
  • All teachers are expected to communicate with PLC leaders each semester and have an annual orientation and ending meeting for training of subject matter.
  • Administration will be contacted if following HECC guidelines are not met in order for state regulations to be adhered to by the university and the high schools.
  • With the above understanding in mind please be aware of the following deadlines.  It is vital that these deadlines are met in order for students to successfully be added to coursework and get credit for what they are taking.

Students talking to students

Eastern would like to start a new tradition of bringing our students to your school to talk to students who are interested in college and the experience.  Students would come to your school and talk to dual credit classes or at other events and help students understand what high school students should expect when they are ready to transition to higher education.  An effort to bring back high school alumni from your school will also be implemented starting during the 2022/2023 school year.
