Hight School Teacher Dual Credit Expectations for Current EOU Offerings

Accounting (BA211Z & BA213Z) Educational background must include passing grades(C or better) in financial and managerial accounting.
Anatomy & Physiology (BIO231,232, & 233) Master’s degree in Biology is required. Series must be taught over two academic years
Anthropology
(ANTH100)
Bachelor’s degree with current Social Science Endorsement. Undergraduate Anthropology coursework is desirable (but not required).
Biology (BIO101, 102, 103, & 104) Bachelor of Science in Biology. 
Chemistry (CHEM 101 & 102)1) Master’s degree in chemistry/biochemistry, no teaching experience required, or 2) Bachelor’s degree in chemistry/biochemistry and 1 year’s teaching experience, or 3)Bachelor’s degree in a physical or life science and a minor in chemistry and 3 years’ experience teaching chemistry. If a teacher does not meet these requirements, they will be considered on a case by case basis if they have taken a minimum of a full year of general chemistry (not introductory chemistry) and have 5+ years chemistry teaching experience. 
Communications (COM111Z) Bachelor’s degree with at least one public speaking class in undergrad or beyond. 
Computer Science (CS161 & 162) Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Data Management Using Microsoft Excel (BA169Z – Formerly BA231) Proficiency at the Excel Intermediate or Master level. Online courses to obtain proficiency are available.
Early Childhood (ED 129 & 129L)A degree or specialization in ECED is needed
Future Educators ½ & Education Labs (ED 119, ED 139, ED 109)Master’s or equivalent.  Must be dedicated to their profession and student advocate, preferably with a culturally responsive lens.
Health and Human Performance (HHP131,CH250, & CH298) Bachelor’s degree in a health field and a master’s in teaching or in health.  
Community Health (CH) 250 aligns best with a 12th-grade-level personal health class, and CH 298 aligns best with a personal fitness class.
Intro to Business in Global Environment (BA 101)Bachelor’s degree and some business-related coursework (around 9 credits).  Business/industry experience may substitute for coursework
Mathematics & Statistics (Math 111Z, Math 112Z, Math 251Z, Math 252Z & STAT 243Z)Math 111, 112 (Z/A/B) Bachelor’s degree in Math/Math Ed with Basic or Advanced Endorsement.  Math 251/252 requires Advanced Endorsement.  STAT 243 (Z/A/B) Bachelor in Math/Math ED/Stat.
Medical Terminology (SCI215) Bachelor of Science in Biology. If lacking a BS in Biology, the following college coursework would be required: 1 year sequence of major’s level Biology with lab as well as the completion of Anatomy and Physiology.
Music Elements & Theory (MUS101 &MUS111) Bachelor’s in Music.
Oregon Teacher’s Pathway (ED 115)Master’s or equivalent.  Must be truly dedicated to their profession and be an advocate for students, preferably with a culturally responsive lens.
Personal Finance and Career Planning (BA 114)Bachelor’s degree
Spanish (SPAN 107, 108, 109)Master’s degree in teaching or Spanish.  Training should include a Methods of Teaching a Foreign Language course.  Three years minimum teaching experience at the high school level.  Experience living in a Spanish speaking country or near-native Spanish proficiency will be considered.
