Medical Care
EOU has transitioned to a model that supports students in accessing care through local healthcare providers in La Grande. We have agreements with Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) and Clinics, conveniently located near campus. Students will be able to establish care and request same-day appointments through the clinic’s patient portal.
Insurance
- Obtain a copy of your insurance card.
- Call the support number on your card or look online for medical providers covered by your plan.

If you do not currently have health insurance, EOU offers the Benefits Navigator Program, which can help eligible students enroll in the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) or explore other available options.
After Hours Care
Severe injuries or illnesses occurring after hours can be evaluated at the Grande Ronde Hospital Emergency Department at the student’s expense. Call 9-1-1 or go to Grande Ronde Hospital at 900 Sunset Avenue, La Grande, Oregon. Grande Ronde Hospital main line 541-963-8421.
We advise that you only use the Emergency Room for truly urgent circumstances, as it is very expensive and may not be covered by your personal insurance.
