Learning Center Lab Aide/ DSO Student Worker 

The Learning Center Computer Lab Aide/Disability Services Office Student Worker is responsible for providing a welcoming environment and maintaining order in the Learning Center/Disability Services Office. The student worker must be reliable and possess excellent communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications-Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
-High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
-Appropriate and professional behavior at all times.
-Possess office maneuverability and be comfortable working with office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, copiers, and scanners.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
-Student workers must have regular student status and be enrolled for six or more credit hours per term, or be a graduate student enrolled for nine or more credit hours.
-Student workers must be in Good Academic Standing: EOU term GPA (for the latest academic term) and a cumulative EOU GPA of 2.00 or higher.

Position SummaryThis position includes two roles. The person in this position may be required to work one role, or both: Learning Center (LC) Computer Lab Aide & Disability Services Office (DSO) Student Worker.

This position reports to the Accommodations Specialist, located in the Disability Services Office (Loso Hall 236).

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Learning Center Computer Lab Aide/Disability Services Office Student Worker is responsible for providing a welcoming environment and maintaining order in the Learning Center/Disability Services Office. The student worker must be reliable and possess excellent communication skills.
Position DutiesRESPONSIBILITIES (Position may include additional duties not listed here):

Learning Center Computer Lab Aide Duties:
-Greet EOU students as they come into the LC/DSO.
-Answer campus specific inquiries and direct students to appropriate resources.
-Perform basic computer troubleshooting, including course specific software and printer maintenance.
-Track drop-in tutor clients and make sure the writing tutors serve each student.
-Show students how to schedule tutoring through the WC Online portal found on the LC website.
-Track paper and USB drive sales by providing an accurate inventory count at the beginning and end of each shift.
-Complete an inventory count and balance the cash on hand at the beginning and end of each shift.
Track office supply inventory necessary to keep computer lab operating (toner and paper) and report to the supervisor when supplies are low.
-Provide help to students using the LC while enforcing lab policies.
-Maintain a clean facility by wiping down all desks and keyboards.
-Demonstrate success working with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
-Abide by confidentially rules and procedures.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the LC Staff.

Disability Services Office Student Worker Duties:
-Greet EOU students as they come into the DSO/LC.
-Answer inquiries about the process of receiving accommodations.
-Assist the Accommodations Specialist in hiring (Note Takers/ Study Partners/ Tutors).
-Train DSO students how to use accommodation specific programs (Kurzweil, DragonSpeak, AIM).
-Contact publishers and acquire alternative text files.
-Proctor Exams (send testing notifications and deliver exams).
-Maintain a clean facility by wiping down all desks and keyboards.
-Demonstrate success working with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
-Abide by confidentially rules and procedures.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Accommodations Specialist and DSO Coordinator.
