“I transferred to Eastern from Pohnpei, and earned my degree in Anth/Soc with a concentration in social welfare. For my capstone project, I partnered with Union County’s domestic violence shelter to learn about the services they provide as advocates for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. I helped create the position I now hold as an on-campus advocate at EOU, providing free and confidential resources for students. The Anthropology/Sociology program at Eastern is outstanding, and helped me reach my goals so that I can better serve my community.”
