LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University (EOU) invites the eastern Oregon community to attend a 2024 election debate for the District 29 State Senate candidates. The event will be held on April 19, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the McKenzie Theater in Loso Hall on the EOU campus.
The public is invited to hear directly from candidates Andy Huwe, Todd Nash, Dave Drotzmann, and Jim Doherty as they outline their policies and respond to community concerns.
The debate is hosted by EOU students Calvin Bennett and Isaac Insko.
“Attending this election debate is a unique opportunity to not only hear from the candidates themselves but to witness the power of student-led initiatives in shaping the political discourse,” Bennett said.
“By hosting this event, Eastern Oregon University students are not just facilitating a crucial democratic process; they are actively demonstrating the importance of youth engagement and leadership in our society,” Insko saidFor those who can’t attend in person, the debate will also be streamed via the EOU Mountie Network. After the debate, PRIMERS BBQ will host a meet and greet with the candidates.
