Happy New Year Eastern Oregon University! I write with enthusiasm about our coming year and our just-about-to-get-started winter term.
A new year brings with it a sense of optimism. For me, that hope revolves around our shared commitment to bringing our strategies to life through conversation, investigation, collaboration, and action.
This week and next mark important weeks in our strategy development as I meet with our four strategy team co-chairs and the larger teams to bring the Ascent 2029 to life. Our teams are divided into four groups: Increased Enrollment chaired by Genesis Meaderds and Danny Cecchini, Student Success chaired by Nate Lowe and Kathryn Shorts, Campus Welfare & Community Engagement chaired by Suzannah Moore and Jordan Withers, and Financial Stability chaired by Haley Evans and Dr. Karyn Gomez.
The teams are charged with researching best practices and advancing three to five big ideas to propel EOU’s success. The teams will seek feedback and input from our campus, and I hope many of you will engage in the call for collaboration.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break, full of love, fun, and rest. I look forward to connecting with you!
Sincerely,
Kelly Ryan, Ph.D.
President
