Off campus test proctoring

If you are needing to establish an off-campus proctor and you live in Oregon, please click the following link to see if we have an EOU Regional Center within your reach.  If so, you will NOT be required to submit an Exam Request.  You simply contact your Regional Center to schedule an appointment as they will already have the needed exam(s).

If you are not within reach of an EOU Regional Center, please email us at testing@eou.edu to let us know that you are looking for a proctor and would like to see what we have listed for your zip code area.  We will then reply with a list of possible proctors in your area to contact and see if they are willing to help and can work out a testing schedule with you.

If the proctor is able to help you, please submit an Exam Request form so we may send the needed testing information to your selected proctor.  Be sure to contact them to schedule an appointment.

You may also select your own proctor.  Approved proctors can be instructors or administrators at a college, university, public or private school teachers, librarians, etc.  This list of qualifications is very strict and can be viewed at the top of the Proctor Information form.  After we receive the Proctor Info form, the proctor’s information is then reviewed and confirmed via the web page for the proctor’s work site, and then entered into our database for your current and future use.

After you have submitted the Proctor Information form for your proctor candidate, please submit an Exam Request form as well so we may process your course exam needs.  When processed, the proctoring information is emailed to the proctor, and at the same time, the student receives an email explaining the exam restrictions for each exam.  It is the student’s responsibility to make testing appointments with the proctor and make sure that the exams are taken on schedule.

You also have the choice of having your exams proctored at home through ProctorU.  With this company, you can schedule a time of your convenience and be proctored via remote Internet access.  You will need your computer set up with microphone and camera.  To learn more, please visit their web site.

EOU Internet Technicians recommend using the Google Chrome browser on your proctor’s PC.  Please confirm with your chosen proctor that they have or will download the free browser to their PC.

Some exams require the Respondus Lockdown Browser (please check your course syllabus).  If so, you are permitted to download the browser onto your own laptop or onto your proctor’s PC when preparing to test.
