Make a Donation to the center for strategic Equity Initiatives

Dear Alumni and Friends,

A lot is happening within our communities as we build our influence on campus and among alumni. Several new initiatives have been implemented, enhanced, or are under consideration by the Center for strategic Equity Initiatives and we’re excited to tell you more about them!

Our international students are actively involved in campus life and the community, and our new 4 Diversity Initiative is making their experiences even more rewarding. Through this dynamic and holistic approach we are delivering quality programs and services enabling students to assess their educational needs, connect with staff to identify resources and ensure they realize academic success.

We’re also involved with multiple events throughout the year. Some will likely be familiar to you, while others are brand new this year:

  • Celebrate, Educate & Appreciate Diversity Conference
  • Maxville Mobile Museum Exhibit
  • Intercultural Dinner & Show
  • Island Magic Lu’au & Show
  • Indian Arts Festival & Powwow

Providing financial assistance is another important way of supporting our students, and that is exactly what Philip Tham, class of ’74, did when he created the Margaret Tham and Leen Inghels International Student Scholarship fund. Beginning in the 2015-16 academic year, three to four international students will receive up to $2,000 in scholarship support thanks to Philip’s generous gift!

As you reflect on your own experience at EOU, take a moment to consider how these powerful programs provide opportunities for self-expression and inclusion in a very special community. With our growing student population, may we count on your support? Join Philip and all of our current donors in helping us continue to provide these much needed resources.

Thank you from all of us at the MOSAIC Center!
