LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University is taking the next steps in the search process for a new president with the development of a leadership profile.
On Monday, January 9 and Tuesday, Jan. 10, Dr. Dick Merriman with Summit Search Solutions will be on campus in La Grande to gather information on the opportunities and challenges for its next CEO. The profile is created with input from the university community and is used to promote the position and inform candidates about the university.
Dr. Merriman will meet with stakeholder groups, including University Council, ASEOU, union leaders, the EOU Alumni Association and EOU Foundation, and other constituent groups. The full schedule is available on the Presidential Search webpage. Dr. Merriman will also participate in some meetings remotely, including the next Faculty Senate meeting.
Summit is also hosting an online survey for those unable to attend the in-person meetings or who wish to provide input directly. The survey can be accessed from EOU’s Presidential Search webpage at eou.edu/presidential-search.
Dr. Merriman will present the draft Leadership Profile to the Presidential Search Committee on January 19. The EOU Board of Trustees will consider the profile at a special meeting on January 25. Once approved, the profile will be used to share information about the university and region with potential candidates. EOU leaders plan to have finalists visit campus in late spring and to have a new leader start by July 1.
Additional details on the presidential search process, including a timeline and a link to the survey, are available on the EOU website.
