Eastern Oregon University Regional High School Mathematics Competition

Due to Social Distancing Measures recommended by the CDC to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the statewide High School Math Competition has been canceled and EOU is canceling the 2020 Regional High School Math Competition.

The Oregon Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM) holds a High School Math Competition every year. Competitors at the State level must first place as a top finisher at their Regional Competition. The 2020 Eastern Oregon Regional High School Competition will take place at Eastern Oregon University on April 14, 2020.

Top performers on the state qualifying exam in levels III-VI will receive invitations to the state tournament. Keep an eye on the Oregon Council of Teachers of Mathematics Contests Page for more information on the date and location for this year’s state tournament.

Students in grades 8-12 are welcome to participate. (Small schools may use students in 7th grade to complete a team).  The state contest this year includes four categories: Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. Our regional competition includes six categories – the four above plus Pre-Algebra and Algebra I.
