LA GRANDE, Ore. – Art Center East (ACE) is excited to announce the opening of “My Heart”, an exhibit featuring paintings and sculptures by local artist Brenna Kimbro. Community members of all ages are invited to attend a free opening reception on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Kimbro will give an informal talk about her work beginning at 6:30 p.m. “My Heart” will be on display in ACE’s Orlaske Gallery July 12 through August 31, 2024. Eastern Oregon University is a proud partner of ACE.
Viewers can expect to see Kimbro’s nationally-recognized, unique horse sculptures, paintings and limited bronze art.
“With this body of work, I want to share a piece of my heart. Through horses and art, my heart continues to grow, trust, and discover.” Kimbro not only embraces the movement, freedom, and gracefulness of horses, but celebrates their nature. Her creative expression shows in her use of brush strokes on canvas and in the subtle curves and gestures within her mixed media sculptures. “It inspires me when my art spreads joy and encourages others to embrace happiness, stay true to themselves, and live their dreams,” comments Kimbro.
Raffle tickets for an original Kimbro painting will be available for purchase, in person and online at artcentereast.org, beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 12. Proceeds from the raffle support the ACE Gallery Program. The raffle winner will be drawn after August 31. The public is invited to attend a free closing reception on Friday, August 30, from 6 p.m to 8:00 p.m.
