LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University announced today that Dr. Lacy Karpilo, Vice President for Student Affairs, is leaving the school, effective May 31.
Dr. Karpilo has been named Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students at Colorado College, a private institution located in Colorado Springs, CO.
“This is an incredible opportunity for me and my family,” said Karpilo. “It was a hard decision and I am very proud of our work at Eastern. I especially want to acknowledge the commitment and dedication to students from everyone at EOU, especially my amazing Student Affairs team.”
During her tenure at EOU, Karpilo oversaw all areas related to the campus student experience, including residence life, student health, counseling, academic advising, admissions, and student activities.
“Lacy led EOU’s student response to the pandemic, spending countless hours with her team to ensure the health and safety of our students,” said Lara Moore, interim co-president. “She championed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and has been leading our Moon Shot for Equity initiative to improve student success and completion here and with our community college partners.”
EOU will announce interim leadership for student affairs prior to Karpilo’s departure. The university will prepare to work with the university’s new president on a search.
