Following an increase in individuals unaffiliated with EOU accessing Hoke Union Building (Hoke) and an incident in the facility last weekend, EOU is updating access times for Hoke and requiring EOU ID card access after regular business hours. Changes to the building access hours will continue to allow students and EOU employees access to Hoke while enhancing safety measures for students, employees and visitors.
Hoke Union Building access hours, effective March 17 at 5 p.m.
Monday through Friday
Saturday and Sunday
Individuals with a current EOU ID card may access Hoke after regular hours through the ground floor entrances on the South side (near the Bookstore) and on the North side (near Mac’s Grill). Place your current EOU ID card near the gray card readers located outside of the entrance doors.
All other campus buildings will maintain current operating hours. EOU is assessing access for each building. To view current building hours, visit eou.edu/safety-security.
If you do not have a current ID card, please stop by the EOU Information Technology Department in Ackerman Hall, room 209, visit the ID card webpage, or email helpdesk@eou.edu. If you have issues accessing any building on campus, please contact EOU Safety & Security at 541-962-3911. EOU Safety & Security is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Remember to be aware of your surroundings and if you see something or someone out of place, contact EOU Safety & Security at 541-962-3911 or the La Grande Police Department at 541-963-1017.
Eastern Oregon University takes the safety and security of everyone in the EOU community seriously and thanks you for your cooperation and awareness.
Sincerely,
EOU Safety & Security
