Graduate Reading Endorsement

Eastern Oregon University’s Graduate Literacy program is designed to support those seeking the Reading Intervention endorsement to an Oregon license.  Candidates may add this endorsement to a license by completing the reading program coursework, including 90 hours of practicum, and obtaining a passing score on a state-approved content exam.

Adding a Reading Endorsement

The Graduate Literacy program is a completely online program that can be completed on its own or as part of a Master of Science degree.  There are two options for candidates interested in graduate literacy: a 24-credit course of study leading to a Reading Intervention Endorsement or a 15-credit Literacy concentration to fulfill requirements for the MS concentration.

The graduate reading program coordinator will only consider one graduate-level transfer course, equivalent to 3 quarter credit hours, towards completion of the graduate reading intervention program. The practicum must be completed at EOU. Candidates seeking the endorsement are encouraged to fulfill all requirements within 5 years.  If candidates do not complete the program within that time frame, some coursework will need to be retaken.
