Safety Services

Eastern Oregon University is committed to protecting the health and safety of its employees, students, and campus visitors, as well as providing a safe working and educational environment.

Reporting Accidents

  • Members of the safety committee also investigate all accidents and near misses that
    occur on campus.
  • If you have an accident or are injured while on campus, you must report it to your
supervisor within 48 hours. You also need to report it to Security. Security will contact the members of the Safety Committee and someone will meet with you to get more details of the accident/injury.

Chemical Information

You have the right to know the chemicals you will be required to use in the
course of your work.

  • Contact your supervisor for details about the chemicals you will be working with and around.
  • Other departments also store chemicals in campus buildings. Most of these are used by our custodians for cleaning the facilities.

EOU Safety Committee

The EOU Safety Committee brings faculty, staff, and students together in a non-adversarial, cooperative effort to promote safety and health in the campus environment. They meet monthly to discuss safety on campus and have been responsible for many safety improvements over the years.
