Safety Policy

Eastern Oregon University is committed to protecting the health and safety of its employees, students and visitors to the campus and to providing a safe working and educational environment. The EOU safety committee brings faculty, staff and students together in a non-adversarial, cooperative effort to promote safety and health in the campus environment.

Report a Safety Concern

Please notify the EOU Safety Committee if you have a safety concern. Just click on the bar above and then fill out and submit the safety gram and a member of the Committee will contact you as part of our follow-up.

What to do in case of an accident

If you have an accident or are injured while at work, please call Campus Security at 541-962-3911 as soon as possible. A small safety team, made up of members of the EOU safety committee, will be notified and will arrange to meet with you to discuss the accident/injury. It is important to note that all accidents or injuries must be reported, regardless of the severity or whether or not medical treatment is sought, within 48 hours. Near-miss accidents also need to be reported; a near-miss is an unplanned event that did not result in injury, illness, or damage – but had the potential to do so.

Call Campus Security at 541-962-3911. We believe that everyone has a role in keeping all of us safe. Help us out by reporting any accident/injury/near-miss within 48 hours.
