Art Editor

The art editor must be a part-time upper division or graduate student of Eastern Oregon University. The applicant must be an upper division student in good standing with the university and have completed at least seven credit hours of visual art classes. The art editor must notify the editor of all activities and consult with the editor on all responsibilities.

The responsibilities of the art editor include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain a working relationship with the editor and advisor of the magazine
  • Help with promotion and distribution of magazines
  • Call for art submissions
  • Assemble a group of students to jury the submitted artwork and then help to decide on which art pieces should be accepted to the magazine
  • Maintain regular office hours
  • Understand how to make digital images of artwork and arrange digital imaging sessions to photograph artwork
  • Help with design and layout of the magazine and integrate art files for submission
