LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University (EOU) invites all alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members to celebrate the 2024 Homecoming. The festivities will kick off on Thursday, October 10, and continue through Saturday, October 12, with a lineup of events designed to engage, entertain, and unite the Mountaineer community.
The Mountaineer March Homecoming Parade is Friday, October 11, at 4:30 p.m., bringing together the community and university.
EOU will host women’s volleyball on Friday, October 11 at 6 p.m. in Quinn Coliseum. EOU Women’s Soccer vs. University of Providence will take place at Community Stadium at 4 p.m., followed by EOU Men’s Soccer at 6:30 p.m.
At 8:30 p.m. following the volleyball match-up fans are invited to attend the Mountaineer Spirit Bonfire will take place at the EOU Campus Beach Volleyball Pits.
On Saturday, the Fun Run registration begins at 7 a.m. at the Hoke Union building outside of the EOU bookstore. The Fun Run starts at 8 a.m.
At 9 a.m. the EOU Baseball team will scrimmage BMCCC at Optimist Field. Also at 9 a.m., the EOU softball team will hold an Alumni Softball game at Peggy Anderson Softball Field.
An Alumni breakfast will be held starting at 9 a.m. and continuing to 10:30 a.m. in the Hoke Community Room in Hoke Union.
Men and women alumni wrestling duels will take place immediately following the breakfast at 11 a.m. on the EOU tennis courts. Later that day, at 1 p.m., the excitement will continue with the Homecoming football game at Community Stadium. Alumni, students, and supporters are invited to gather and cheer on the Mountaineers as they face off against Montana State University-Northern. The game is a cornerstone of the Homecoming festivities, where the campus community comes together to show their EOU pride. Come celebrate Saturday morning, beginning at 10 a.m., in the tailgate zone.
At 4:30 p.m. Women’s Soccer will take on Carroll College at Community Stadium. At 5 p.m. Volleyball will go head-to-head with Oregon Tech, then at 7 p.m., men’s soccer will take on Carroll College. A men’s alumni basketball game will take place inside Quinn Coliseum at 7 p.m.
