LA GRANDE, Ore. – Hosted by Eastern Oregon University, ¡Conéctate! In its 8th year, will be held at EOU on Friday, November 1, 2024
This annual conference is a collaborative effort between Eastern Oregon University, Treasure Valley Community College, and Blue Mountain Community College. Last year, our partners at BMCC hosted the event, and we are excited to build on their success this year.
This year, we will focus on amplifying the voices, lived experiences, and contributions of Latinx communities in rural areas of eastern Oregon, with a special emphasis on wealth building. Through financial, cultural, heritage, and educational lenses, we aim to explore pathways to long-term success and prosperity for these communities, both individually and collectively.
The 2024 theme, “Wealth Building” is designed to empower attendees with the knowledge and tools to take control of their financial future, while also recognizing the value of cultural and social capital as essential components of true wealth creation.
By recognizing and leveraging the richness of cultural heritage and social networks, the annual gathering aims to help attendees build a more holistic and sustainable foundation for lasting success.
The 2024 ¡Conéctate! event on November 1, will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers a chance to connect with other organizations serving Latino communities in the region!
The event will be free and open to the public. Registration is currently open!To register, visit https://www.eou.edu/conectate/. Those who wish to attend should check back often to this link to find updated and key information.
