LA GRANDE, Ore. – Hundreds of students and dozens of vendors came to Eastern Oregon University Wednesday, April 5, with the goal of connecting students with employers, local businesses, and manufacturers.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to have hosted the 2023 Eastern Oregon Career Expo. The amazing work from both the Eastern Oregon Workforce Board and WorkSource Oregon made this event a success, including the great group of staff and student volunteers,” Career Development Coordinator Emily Rynearson said.
The regionally focused event, managed by the Eastern Oregon Workforce Board provided a venue for local and regional employers to gain access to students and community members looking for employment opportunities, including part-time, seasonal, internships, and career positions.
“We are proud to have the opportunity to showcase dozens of businesses to the hundreds of student and community job-seekers in Eastern Oregon. We all take immense pride in connecting these two groups to create opportunities for success,” Rynearson said.
The event was a collaboration between the EO Workforce Board, WorkSource Oregon and Eastern Oregon University hosted on the EOU campus.
During the Expo, representatives from WorkSource Oregon hosted a resume drop-in opportunity for job seekers to receive help with their resumes. This was a nice touch to the event and allowed job seekers to learn how to create their original resumes.
