Graduate Certificate Check Sheet

This program (equal to a year of preparation) is designed for those seeking a certificate in English for Speakers of Other Languages. Candidates may be awarded this certificate by completing the course of study and 90 clock hours of practicum. The objective is to provide an opportunity for students to receive the coursework required to teach English for Speakers of Other Languages outside of the public school setting. Such settings may include community programs and language programs offered outside of the United States. Eastern will only accept 1 transfer course (3 credit equivalent) towards this program, the course must be approved by the Program Coordinator. The ESOL Practicum (ED545 and ED 548 must be completed through EOU.
