The Presidential Search Committee has recommended to Board Chair Martin the names of three finalists to receive on-campus interviews for the position of university president. Chair Martin has reviewed the committee’s recommendation and has approved it. Dick Merriman of Summit Search Solutions has contacted the finalists. They are all pleased to be invited and have accepted the invitation to come to campus for interviews.
The visits require a day and a half in order to allow the candidates to meet with a broad spectrum of university and community members. The visits culminate in the board’s interview of the finalist.
The members of each of the groups who meet with the candidates will be asked to complete feedback forms following their meetings. These responses will be collected, compiled, and shared with the board at the board’s deliberation meeting.
Because candidates have existing employee relationships, we are minimizing public exposure of their candidacy while still allowing for university community participation in the process. This practice helps assure that we get and keep the highest quality of candidates. This also ensures equal consideration of all candidates. Each candidate’s name and relevant information will be released two days prior to their arrival on campus.
We plan to use something similar to this draft schedule for each finalist’s visit.
