Pre-Physicians Assistant

Pre-Physicians Assistant

The pre-physicians assistant prerequisite curriculum at EOU is designed to meet the admission requirements of physicians assistant programs.  Typical coursework includes a one-year sequence of general biology with lab, general chemistry with lab, anatomy and physiology with lab, in addition to courses which include microbiology with lab, upper division natural science coursework, general psychology, statistics, and English composition.  Most professional schools require a minimum of six months to one-year of health care experience in a position of responsibility.  Students are strongly encouraged to obtain prerequisite requirements   for the schools to which they are applying and to work closely with their pre-physicians assistant adviser when selecting appropriate coursework.  Admission to physicians assistant programs is highly competitive and requires high academic achievement.
