Concert Piano Project

Step into the future of performing arts

Eastern Oregon University students, community members and guests perform on and alongside our existing grand piano in Loso Hall every year. Major events ranging from choral performances and visiting artists, to senior recitals and orchestra concerts depend upon this center-stage instrument.

When our area students come and perform, we want to ensure that they have access to the best equipment in the region.

– Peter Wordelman DMA, Music Professor

Invest in the Arts

The current piano has served EOU relentlessly since it was manufactured in 1953. The time has come to replace our 64-year-old piano and continue the legacy of excellence in the performing arts at EOU.

The Oregon Agriculture Foundation, founded by McKenzie Theatre’s namesakes Glen and Jean McKenzie, has generously offered a $40,000 matching gift to support efforts to purchase a new concert piano.

EOU is renovating Loso Hall’s infrastructure to create a performing arts facility that is unparalleled in the region. Such a venue requires professional grade equipment to fulfill the expectations of performers, students, attendees and the community.

This piano is part of the package for a state-of-the-art performing arts facility.

– Matt Cooper DMA, Music Professor
