Degree and Minimum GPA

A baccalaureate degree with a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale is required OR 3.25/4.0 in the last 90 quarters or 60 semester hours. Applicants are required to demonstrate competency in marketing, finance, accounting, operations management and quantitative methods/statistics via an academic record, Peregrine Academic Leveling Testing, or relevant and demonstrable professional work experience. Prerequisite Knowledge

Applicants should hold a baccalaureate degree in business or related degree (Agribusiness, Finance, Accounting, Economics, etc.) from an accredited institution.   Applications without this are still encouraged to apply but will be asked to demonstrate competency in 13 core concept areas including management, marketing, finance, accounting and other core business principles.  Competency must be demonstrated prior to beginning the program and can be demonstrated through academic record, online preparatory courses, testing, or professional work experience and certifications.

Program Length

A student can choose how they want to distribute the courses but to complete the program in five terms, the student must take three (3) classes each term for five terms. Students can select any array of classes and could take up to 15 terms to complete the program if they only take one class each term. However, graduate students must be enrolled at least half-time (4.5 or more credits per term) to receive financial aid.

MBA Grading Policy

Any student who receives a grade lower than a B- in any MBA course will be placed on probation and must meet with the MBA Program Coordinator.  A second grade below a B- within the program will result in suspension from the program.  In order to be reinstated, the student must meet with the MBA Faculty Committee and re-take at least one of the courses.  Any grade below a C- is an unacceptable grade and the course must be repeated for a grade of B- or higher.  In addition, students must have a minimum 3.00 grade point average in the program in order to graduate.


Eastern Oregon University has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), located in Lenexa, Kansas.

Q: What can I do with an MBA degree?

A: An MBA is an advanced business degree. Earning an MBA can lead to a higher salary, a position in management, and marketability in an ever-evolving job market. Effectively, with an MBA you provide yourself more value in just about every workplace.


Q: Is pursuing an MBA degree worth it in my career?

Depending on your position and career aspirations, by graduating with an MBA you can earn a higher salary, gain an advantage over on your competition, and acquire specialized and advanced leadership skills and business knowledge to advance in your field.


Q: How long does it take to complete the EOU MBA program?

A: You can choose to complete the MBA program full-time in as few as five 11-week quarters (or 15 months) or part-time in up to four years.


Q: Can I transfer in relevant graduate credits earned at an accredited institution elsewhere?

Yes. The online MBA program allows a maximum of 15 transfer credits. Students seeking to exchange credit for life/work experiences can pursue EOU’s Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) process. To learn more, contact an enrollment counselor at 855-805-5399.


Q: Do you consider International applicants?

Yes. You would need to create an account in the EOU Online system using your name and email address. Apply for Admission by filling out the online application and pay a $90 non-refundable application and any other fees online.  Gather and submit the appropriate documentation requested. International students, must meet the requirements of the EOU English Proficiency Policy.


Q: When do I need to submit my application?

A: We have a rolling admission.  Applications are on a first come, first review basis. Your application must be complete before it will be reviewed. See the MBA website for current deadlines.


Q: What admission tests do I need to take?

A: No standardized admission tests are required.

Q: Can I work while in the program?

A: Absolutely! The MBA program allows students the ability to work and go to school.

Q: In which term must I start my enrollment?

A: You may begin the program in any term.
